WACO CITY COUNCIL Meeting 12/07/2021: Rooftop solar permit delays

From Alan Northcutt:

I spoke about the harmful delays in rooftop solar permitting, at a time the City should be expediting permits during this CLIMATE CRISIS.  The addition of 20 panels to my system took 6 MONTHS to permit!  A friend is trying to obtain a permit for solar + battery & is at an impasse after 6 months.

I included the 2021 FEMA Disaster Risk Assessment, showing McLennan County is at greater risk than 91% of US counties. Our greatest risk is for heatwaves, river flooding, high winds, tornadoes, & lightning.  The current US drought map shows the entire county is now in drought level 0, the 1st level.  My recommendation: the City give priority to solar permits, correct the problem causing delays, & streamline the process to take days or weeks instead of months.
