6:30 Lecture & Discussion

The Friends of Peace are honored to host a lecture by Alyssa Burgin, a superstar in the Texas climate change activist community.

Ms. Burgin is a fifth-generation Texan, born and raised in San Antonio. She majored in physics and microbiology at the University of Texas, working in early monoclonal antibody research and public health projects. A lifelong interest in political communication, however, brought her to journalism graduate school, and a subsequent master's degree paved her way into positions in state and national political campaigns. In 2002, she shifted into issue advocacy, becoming first, the media and outreach director for Texans for Peace, then the crisis communications director for the Christian Peacemaker Teams. She co-founded the Texas Drought Project in 2008.

We are looking forward to an informative lecture and discussion!

Email to anorthc@aol.com to be placed on the Friends of Peace email list.
