Meetings are currently held on the 4th Tuesday, 6pm, at the South Waco Library, 2737 S. 18th St., Waco, TX 76706. Kay Lucas


The Central Texas peace community mourns the passing of Kay Lucas on Sunday, March 3, 2013.  Kay was a founding member of Waco Friends of Peace and was the long-time director of the Crawford Peace House.  Her hard work and dedication inspired us all, and we will miss her.

  1. Kay Lucas changed the course of history. She was the director, chef, gardener and philosopher of the Crawford Peace House. When crowds gathered near the Bush Ranch in the summer of 2005, the infrastructure Kay had built through the Peace House supported the huge number of activists. And those protests re-ignited the anti-war movement until most Americans came to oppose the Iraq War. Though she was not recognized, Kay did in fact hasten the end of the tragic Iraq occupation.
